What are x-ray (see through) cameras, and how do they work?
Did you ever want to be like Superman, able to leap tall buildings with a single bound? Who among us wouldn’t want to have x-ray vision? Being able to see through walls would pose some advantages, too. Well nowadays the new spy cameras on the marketplace enable just about anyone to see through paper bags, under your shirt and in your pocket. With the level of technological advances available, this long held dream has now become a reality. Not only are spy cameras available to the rich and priviledged, prices have fallen to a level where even the average person can use this modern technology to make their environment more secure. Spy cameras are designed to see through dark and tinted car windows – to see beyond a bandit’s mask or motorcyle helmet which can assist in identifying a suspect in a robbery. The camera can see through layers of clothing, disguises or dark sunglasses used to mask, the hidden individual who wants to not be seen. This is of great assistance to law enforcement professionals who need to know what the fact are that the criminal would like to conceal.

What are x-ray cameras, and how do they work? Technologically, there are a few pieces to the puzzle, but the concept is very simple indeed. All you need is an infra- red camera (IR), special lens, a night vision camera, and a specific target to well, shoot. The light reflected on an object from sun or artificial lighting enables an object to be visible. In darkness (night or lack of lighting) this vision is limited or reduced to blindness.

Another part of the process is the use of water. When water is sprayed onto the object, the hidden object becomes even more visible. Perhaps because water creates reflective rays of its own and magnifies the existing rays to a more intensive level.
Another way to use the spy camera is in reading hidden text throuh a dark ink blot on an important document. Without risking smearing and destroying the paper, you can use the x-ray camera to see exactly what is written under the ink blot below. This is helpful in uncovering originally produced documents that have been altered or forged. An x-ray camera is an important tool in today’s modern society. Good common sense and etiquette suggests that it be used for professional reasons only and to respect the privacy of others who do not pose a threat to them.
